Offer Description
We are seeking a Junior Researcher for the SECURING project within the KISON research group, which is part of the Research Centre on Ethical Technologies and Humanity Connectivity (UOC-TECH) at the UOC.
The aim of the project is to contribute to the sustained development of the Internet by providing cost-effective cybersecurity and privacy technologies.
This will equip IoT infrastructures with the necessary protection levels for the sustainable deployment of this technology.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects in cryptography and privacy, performing the following tasks within a cutting-edge research environment as part of a small, dynamic, and supportive team:
Collaborate closely with team members to brainstorm ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and refine research methodologies.
Design, develop, and validate novel cryptographic algorithms.
Contribute to project documentation and the dissemination of research findings.
Author and co-author scientific papers for submission to top-tier journals and conferences.
Participate in drafting and developing research project proposals to secure funding and expand the group's impact.
The successful candidate will be awarded a temporary full-time contract lasting 3 months.
The scheduled start date is immediate.
For work on site, the principal location will be the UOC Campus, at Rambla del Poblenou *******, Barcelona.

The UOC's recruitment and selection processes are based on the principles of Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment (OTM-R).
Education: A PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with a strong interest in cryptography.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in similar tasks and subject matter.
Technical Skills: Cryptography and programming skills.
Knowledge of one or more of the following areas:
Homomorphic Encryption (FHE).
Multi-Party Computation (MPC).
Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP).
Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE).
Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).
Languages: Scientific English proficiency.
Also of interest:
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of the UOC's educational model, structure, systems and processes.
