No /p h3Offer Description /h3 pWe have an exciting opportunity to join the Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network, SUPER, as a PhD Fellow. The successful candidate will be registered as a fee-free PhD student at Blanquerna – Universitat Ramon Llull and enrolled in the SUPER Doctoral Network, with secondment opportunities in industry and other European academic institutions. /p pSUPER (Sustainable Sports and Physical Activity for Equity and Resilience) is offering 17 pioneering fellowship opportunities at the intersection of sustainability and sports science. /p pSports and physical activity are an essential part of the fabric of our lives, but also impact the planet through transport, infrastructure, equipment and energy use in ways that are widely unknown. At the same time, sports and physical activity will be affected by the impacts of climate change and must adapt to continue promoting health and resilience. /p pSUPER will reshape physical activity and sports practices, equipment and infrastructure to ensure equitable access for all, regardless of where they live, their socioeconomic status or background. It will reduce sport’s environmental impact through sustainable practices and mitigate the negative health effects of climate change by fostering resilience and wellbeing, especially among vulnerable populations. /p pThrough SUPER, sports and physical activity will become a platform to raise awareness of planetary health, helping to inspire broader engagement in sustainability. SUPER will confront the need for equity and climate justice head-on, creating a transformative and mission-driven science to guide the future of sport for future generations. /p pA new wave of scientists and leaders will emerge, equipped with transdisciplinary expertise that bridges physical activity, sports, public and planetary health, circular economy and sustainability. /p pThe Doctoral Candidate in the project “Planning, design and management of sports infrastructures to be more sustainable and resilient to climate change” will play a central role within the network and will: /p ul listrongSynthesize evidence /strong: Conduct a systematic literature review to examine decision‑making processes in the planning, design, and management of sports infrastructure from a sustainability perspective. /li listrongIdentify best practices /strong: Identify and analyze exemplary practices among responsible promoters and managers of sports facilities, and evaluate their impacts in collaboration with expert stakeholders. /li listrongCo‑design innovative architectural solutions /strong: Work collaboratively with promoters, architects, facility managers, users, and other stakeholders to develop innovative approaches that foster more sustainable and climate‑resilient sports spaces. /li listrongStrengthen governance /strong: Engage stakeholders in the co‑creation of a practical guide for the planning, design, and management of sports facilities aimed at reducing environmental footprint and enhancing adaptability to adverse climate conditions. /li /ul pThe Doctoral Candidate will be expected to: /p ul liReport on findings through scientific articles and a PhD dissertation; /li liPresent findings at (inter)national meetings and conferences; /li liContribute to the wider work of the SUPER project; /li liParticipate in educational activities of the department and within the consortium. /li /ul h3Where to apply /h3 pE-mail: /p h3Requirements /h3 pResearch Field: Other, Environmental science, Architecturebr/Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent /p pSkills/Qualifications: /p ul liMaster’s degree in sustainability, urban planning, environmental science, sports science, or related discipline; /li liStrong interest in sustainable architecture, urban design, and physical activity; /li liExperience in participatory or citizen science methods; /li liExcellent analytical and data management skills; /li liStrong communication skills in Spanish, both written and oral; /li liStrong communication skills in English, both written and oral; /li liAbility to work collaboratively across disciplines and with external partners. /li /ul pSpecific Requirements: /p ul liAll researchers recruited in a Doctoral Network must be doctoral candidates, i.e. not already in possession of a doctoral degree at the date of the recruitment; /li liDoctoral candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the recruiting host organisation for more than 12 months in the three years immediately before the recruitment date; /li liRequired languages: English and Spanish – Excellent proficiency needed. /li /ul pstrongNice-to-haves /strong /p ul liUnderstanding of the Catalan language and ability to communicate; /li liExperience in the design or management of sports facilities; /li liExperience in projects around environmental sustainability. /li /ul pLanguagesbr/ENGLISH – Level Excellentbr/SPANISH – Level Excellent /p pResearch Field: Other Environmental science, Architecture /p pThe MSCA programme offers competitive and attractive working conditions.
