Supervise and coordinate customs-related operations for imports and exports in Spain and the EU region.
Review and validate all customs declarations, HS code classifications, and documentation submitted by third-party customs service providers.
Ensure compliance with the EU Customs Code (UCC) and local Spanish customs procedures.
Manage and audit certificates of origin and preferential tariff documentation (e.g., FORM A and other origin proofs) to ensure maximum tariff benefits.
Oversee customs risk management and ensure timely resolution of customs inspections, holds, or compliance issues.
Provide professional guidance to third-party customs brokers, ensuring their services meet contractual SLAs and internal compliance standards.
Monitor and maintain import/export data accuracy within company systems and customs reporting platforms.
Support optimization of customs and trade processes, including ATA Carnet, inward processing, and other trade facilitation programs.
Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, supply chain, legal, and finance departments to align customs compliance with overall business operations.
Requirements:
Valid EU-recognized customs certification (e.g., EU Certified Customs Specialist – CCC) or equivalent Spanish customs qualification.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in customs management within Spain or other major EU countries (e.g., Germany, France).
Proven experience handling import/export clearance for the automotive or manufacturing industry, especially KD parts.
Deep knowledge of EU origin rules, HS classification, and customs valuation.
Strong ability to audit and challenge third-party customs declarations with high attention to detail and risk awareness.
Excellent problem-solving and response capabilities in customs inspection or clearance delays.
Strong communication and coordination skills; able to liaise professionally with customs authorities, third-party agents, and internal teams.
Fluent in Spanish (C1 or above) and English; Catalan and Chinese are a plus.
Cross-cultural adaptability to effectively bridge Chinese and European business environments.
Preferably local Spanish citizens or candidates with valid work authorization in Spain. Preferred Background:
Senior customs operators or supervisors from large international freight forwarding or customs brokerage companies with branch offices in Spain.
