Head of Quality Buses Mexico Responsibilities
Plan, define, and manage the activities of Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Management (QM), Pre‑Delivery Inspections for Bodybuilders (PDI), Supplier Management (SM), and the Warranty Department (G&K;) for the Bus product line at Daimler Buses México. Strengthen financial results, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction by improving existing tools, processes, and methodologies to ensure full compliance with the quality standards established by Corporate Quality and DVCMex. Additionally, drive the effectiveness and compliance of the Environmental Management System as the designated EMR. Define strategies to create, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality & Environmental Management Systems (IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 17025) for Daimler Buses México, ensuring full compliance with Daimler standards and contributing to a strong Customer Satisfaction Index. Establish and implement appropriate quality standards for intercompany and direct suppliers by developing and maintaining quality agreements with facilities such as DTAG, MBBras, Consolidation Centers, and both local and international suppliers. Lead the definition, development, functionality, and maintenance of production processes, determining chassis quality assurance methods and inspection levels in alignment with Daimler Buses & Trucks systems. Ensure that Chemical and Metallurgical Quality Labs maintain competencies for productive parts approvals. Coordinate and reconcile product and process quality assurance activities for Bodybuilders, including Marcopolo (Bodybuilder partner), to ensure full compliance with Mercedes‑Benz product quality requirements after the bodybuilding process, supported by continuous improvement initiatives. Manage effective feedback of quality issues to the plant and the field, defining appropriate corrective actions involving production, suppliers, and engineering. Ensure that the Supplier Management area effectively oversees the supply chain in terms of quality and delivery performance (Ppms & SPpms). Support Operations and Engineering in developing new suppliers and periodically assessing supplier performance. Oversee tooling management, define the required budget for new needs, and ensure proper tooling maintenance. Define performance strategies for the Warranty Bus area, including warranty cost planning and vehicle failure rate accruals for each EA cycle. Ensure warranty reimbursements are executed according to plan and that the Parts Return Center Workshop operates effectively, with technical evaluations performed for warranty approvals. Drive the effectiveness and compliance of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as UMB/EMR, ensuring continuous improvement and the achievement of environmental objectives. Take appropriate actions within Production Planning and Manufacturing to support the achievement and maintenance of quality and environmental management certifications, while ensuring strict confidentiality of company and business information. Always be in strict Alignment with current local and international applicable regulations, such as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Daimler Truck Code of Conduct, as well as any other policy and procedure established for Daimler Truck.
