Schneider Electric is undergoing a global infrastructure transformation programme led by Global Technology Services (GTS). Within GTS, the Core Network Product Owner will lead the GTS Infrastructure Architects, Solution Delivery and Operation teams. The transformation focuses on data centre optimization, cloud migrations, network optimizations and application modernization, using digital technologies such as Cloud, Microservices, Core Network and DevOps.
What will you do?
- Analyse the market for network-related solutions and stay up to date with innovation topics.
- Create a 3 to 5-year vision for the core network and publish a finalized strategy aligned with other teams.
- Define and maintain End-to-End services for the core network with clear inventory, processes, ownership, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with business representatives to improve service availability.
- Coordinate with other GTS product ownership to align strategies and support live services.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to improve efficiency and costs.
- Provide support during critical incidents related to core network capabilities under ownership.
- Track KPIs of services regularly and develop improvement plans.
- Build an efficient and performant team (solution architects, SREs, governance) to provide services to the business.
- Develop best-in-class monitoring to support SLAs on the platform.
- Liaise with core network suppliers’ support to resolve incidents promptly.
- Team management: mentor and coach team members, support career development, foster continuous improvement and change, ensure compliance with Schneider policies and processes including TOGAF, DevOps framework, and allocate resources to best align with the portfolio.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrable professional experience.
- 3 to 5 years of leadership experience focused on core network services.
- 5 years’ experience as a Core Network Architect and/or Engineer.
- Experience with routing design, techniques, and protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Advanced knowledge of SDN solutions (SD-WAN, SD-DC;
Cisco currently used).
- Advanced knowledge of LAN and WiFi solutions (Cisco used;
other technologies a plus).
- Working knowledge of DevOps frameworks.
- Adequate knowledge of security and hardening concepts.
- Advanced virtualization technologies knowledge.
- Experience with DDI solutions: DHCP, DNS, NTP.
- Authentication, Directory Services, LDAP and IAM: Microsoft Active Directory & Azure Active Directory, Certificate Services, Single Sign-On, AWS IAM, SAML, OAuth.
- Adequate knowledge of core network management, logging and monitoring tools.
- Advanced knowledge of disaster recovery services and strategies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills;
comfortable working in a multinational team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction;
self-starter/motivated.
Desirable
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF and Zachman.
- Certifications: Wireless (CCNP Wireless, CWNP or CWNE);
LAN/WAN (CCIE or CCNP);
Data Center (CCNP).
Nice to have certifications
- Cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
- ITIL V4, Dev/SecOps and Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF, Gartner Methodology).
- Technical writing experience.
