This position involves conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, maintaining lab equipment, and assisting with administrative tasks. At the conclusion of the summer, the research assistant will present their work at a poster presentation.Key Responsibilities:* Conduct experiments following established protocols and procedures.* Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.* Maintain accurate and detailed records of all research activities.* Assist in the preparation of research reports, manuscripts, and possibly grant applications.* Prepare solutions, reagents, and other laboratory materials.* Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning.* Track laboratory supplies and inventory used.* Comply with institutional safety protocols and biosafety regulations.* Assist in training new lab personnel and students.* Participate in lab meetings, seminars, and presentations.* Perform administrative duties such as organizing research files, scheduling experiments, and handling correspondence related to research projects.Qualifications:* Education: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and maintaining a GPA of 3.2.* Experience: Prior research experience in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
