Your new team
We are a medium-sized, globally distributed design team headed by Benny Zuffolini, Kyrsten McCartney, Jag Rai, and Catherine Stuart, dedicated to the Language Learning sector of Pearson. Our team works across UX/UI Design, UX Writing, UX Research, and Service Design. We come from diverse backgrounds and cultures, creating a dynamic environment with growth opportunities. While geographically spread, we primarily collaborate with stakeholders in European time zones.
Our UX principles include: One size does not fit all, focus on users, keep it simple and consistent, and reuse components. We value collaboration, curiosity, proactivity, and making an impact in our work and relationships. We believe in learning from everyone's uniqueness and adding value for users while achieving company goals.
The skills you will need in your new role
You will collaborate daily with product managers, researchers, engineers, and QA in an agile environment to deliver user-centric solutions. Responsibilities include ideation, prototyping, testing, and implementation for accessible and seamless experiences. Key skills required:
* Translating product briefs into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and artefacts to help teams understand the user perspective.
* Strong UI and interaction design skills to create static and dynamic components that enhance engagement and usability.
* Responsive design experience for web layouts across various screens; app design experience is a plus.
* Knowledge of Design Systems to contribute new components and maintain consistency.
* Proficiency in Figma for design, prototyping, and collaboration.
* Ability to translate research into actionable insights and conduct usability testing.
* Adaptability to put products and users above personal biases, open to feedback and iterative design.
* Collaboration skills to work seamlessly with designers and cross-functional teams; experience running workshops is a bonus.
