Title: Accountant (Freelance)
Functional Reporting: Head of Accounting and Treasury
Workplace: Hybrid (2 days per week home office)
Duration: 6 months (to cover a maternity leave)
City: Madrid
2. Mission and Responsibilities
We are looking for a profile with a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or similar, with at least 5 years of experience in similar positions to work for our client for a 6 month period (to cover a maternity leave). The selected candidate will join the Finance team to support accounting and financial analysis tasks, including closing, reporting, and financial planning across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and analyze the accounting closing of +20 group entities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Analyze budget deviations, identify opportunities, and propose action plans.
- Prepare monthly income and expense provision files.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls.
- Prepare annual accounts.
- Forecast and monitor cash flow.
- Calculate and prepare financial expenses for assigned financing; monitor and coordinate with banks.
- Support and collaborate with external auditors.
- Manage inventory and calculate depreciation.
- Maintain and update the document management system.
- Participate in the implementation of the Business Central ERP and optimize reporting processes.
- Perform other tasks related to the financial closing process.
3. Requirements and Profile
- University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
- Postgraduate studies or a Master's in Accounting are highly valued.
- Minimum B2 level of English (spoken and written).
- Proficient in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Valuable knowledge of Business Central and Power BI.
- +5 years of experience in similar roles.
- Experience in the sector and/or in auditing firms (Big Four) is a plus.
