Overview
APM Terminals – Optimize business operations by analyzing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and leveraging data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement. This position ensures workflows are streamlined, resources are utilized effectively, and decision-making is based on accurate and meaningful data. Additionally, ensure data integrity contributing to overall business performance and innovation. Enhance operational efficiency by applying analytical methodologies, process mapping, and data visualization techniques to reduce costs and support strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Data Analysis Support:
Assist in data analysis to support decision-making by actively conducting research to identify bottlenecks, resource or cost issues, and process characterization.
* Identify inputs, outputs, and their interrelationships using visualization tools, data analysis software, and process simulation / emulation.
* Propose new tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
* Support the terminal and various departments in measuring and characterizing processes with dashboards and data visualization tools (currently in Power BI).
* Provide guidance and advisory support beyond responding to specific requests, including:
o Ensuring the proper definition of visualizations to facilitate process analysis and improvement.
o Identifying the right data sources and connections, ensuring their quality and sustainability.
o Acting as a liaison with the local IT department and global teams to ensure the development, usability, and long-term sustainability of visualization and data analysis tools.
* Tools to Improve Process Control and Data Quality:
Implement automation solutions using Power Automate.
* Develop tools through Web / App programming as well as small applications in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.
CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

List all skills / qualifications / experience necessary to perform the requirements of the position:
* Requires university degree or engineering
* Data scientist or operational process experts preferred
* A High School diploma and at least two years of additional vocational or two years college program could be considered
* Requires at least 3 years in similar positions
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience in data analysis, process optimization, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.)
* Knowledge of databases, data sources, and application development
* Familiarity with automation tools (Power Automate or alternatives) and programming for Web / Apps
Additional Valuable Knowledge and Skills
* Lean manufacturing tools
* Math tools for analysis and simulations (Matlab & Simulink, FlexSim)
* Advanced use of AI tools
Languages
Fluency in Spanish and English (minimum B2, desirable C1)
Additional languages will be considered a plus.
