We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team in a full-time role, based at one of our hybrid office locations.
In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, helping to develop and implement advanced sports metrics, primarily in football. Your work will make new insights accessible through applications, data reports, visualizations, and content across multiple sports.
These metrics are integrated into Opta’s feeds and products, serving clients in media and professional sports industries worldwide.
This position offers the opportunity to influence how sports data is utilized by broadcasters, media outlets, and clubs globally. If you are passionate about sports analytics, we would love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
* Respond to daily ad-hoc data requests from internal teams and clients.
* Design engaging data visualizations for media use.
* Educate teams on new Stats Perform outputs.
* Provide feedback to the AI team as a primary user of their models.
* Create and support content for various platforms.
* Develop tools (e.g., Shiny, Flask) to improve access to AI models.
* Conduct ad-hoc analysis projects for media and sports clients.
Required Qualifications:
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
* Experience in data analysis and visualization of insights.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or R.
* Experience with football data, professionally or as a hobby.
* Ability to showcase your work with sports data (e.g., code repositories or social media).
* Deep understanding of football and its applications in data analysis.
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience working with sports clubs or in the sports data industry.
* Knowledge of AWS technologies (e.g., S3, Redshift).
* Multilingual abilities.
* Knowledge of sports beyond football.
