Director of Sales, Marketing and Reservations
A luxury boutique hotel group with a strong focus on service excellence, guest experience and premium positioning is seeking a Director of Sales, Marketing & Reservations to lead and evolve its global commercial strategy.
GENERAL MISSION
Supports to develop and implement the Commercial Strategic Plan and Marketing of the hotel and the appropriate guidelines to reach the established objectives and improve market penetration.
SALES
* Local Sales & Account Management:
o Drive relationships with DMCs, corporates, local Hotel/Hospitality Partners and event planners.
o Convert inbound leads from cluster and global accounts.
o Represent the property at local events and networking opportunities.
o Manage the on-property team.
o Coordinate strategy from Corporate roles (Revenue, Sales and Marketing).
* Groups & Events Leadership:
o Direct responsibility for the Groups & Events Reservations team.
o Ensure timely, accurate, and commercially strong proposal management, contracting, and upselling. Work on team efficiencies.
* Commercial Collaboration:
o Align with Director Leisure Sales on FAMs and site inspections, including coordinated Key Account Management.
o Support Cluster MICE on pipeline follow-up and conversion and proactive opportunity management.
o Provide local insights to Cluster Director Revenue for pricing decisions, forecasting demand evaluation.
o Coordinate with the Marketing team to ensure consistent brand and campaign activation on property.
o Ensure all SOPs related to client and guest data are in place, consistently applied and fully adhered to, so that information essential for future commercial opportunities is accurate, secure and usable across the commercial team.
MARKETING & PR
* Provide strategic direction on E-Commerce and online marketing to ensure the hotel is positioned in line with brand standards, working closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager and digital partners.
* Oversee the development of initiatives that enhance the guest experience through partnerships, activities and communication, guiding the Marketing & Communications team in their execution.
* Supervise and support the Marketing & Communications Manager in liaising with local and international PR agencies to ensure effective promotion of activities and experiences held at the hotel.
* Curate and steer the entertainment and events programming on property, ensuring the brand is perceived as the place to be, while the team manages day‑day planning and delivery.
* Safeguard and champion the brand guidelines across the property, identifying opportunities for innovation and ensuring that all guest‑facing touchpoints are aligned with the brand.
* Act as a senior brand ambassador in everything you do, representing the hotel and brand with key partners, media, and the local community.
* Lead, coach and mentor the Marketing & Communications team, ensuring the effective planning, coordination and execution of all brand, communications and marketing initiatives.
* Represent the hotel at key on‑property events and activations, fostering strategic relationships, supporting content opportunities and strengthening partnerships, while empowering the team to manage operational coverage.
* Own and oversee the brand and marketing budget on property, ensuring that each activity and investment supports the commercial objectives and follows the strategic direction of the brand.
RESERVATIONS
* Supervise the Reservations Department, ensuring a personalized, accurate, and efficient booking process that reflects the highest service standards.
* Monitor daily operations, ensuring adherence to established procedures, data integrity, and brand compliance.
* Collaborate closely with the Revenue Management to optimize pricing, inventory distribution, and conversion rates across all channels.
* Drive the Reservations team to deliver exceptional guest service, supporting pre‑arrival experiences and anticipating guest needs.
* Conduct regular training and performance reviews to uphold excellence and consistency.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
* Preferably Tourism and / or Hospitality Diploma.
* Valuable experience with PMS Opera and further industry relevant Systems.
* Knowledge of languages: Fluent in English and Spanish.
* Be in tune with current market trends and the marketplace.
* Creative negotiation skills.
* Know Barcelona and being aware of cultural happenings.
* Minimum experience of three years in a similar position in an international luxury hotel environment.
