A Day in the Life As Sales Operations Leader for Cardiac Surgery (CS) in Western Europe (WE), you will play a strategic leadership role in building and executing the CS business vision, driving operational excellence and commercial execution across the region (~$150M annual revenue). You will lead a high-performing team, ensure product availability to key customers in priority areas, optimize inventory levels, foster collaboration across functions, and represent CS Western Europe in global planning processes. You will report functionally to the Western European Cardiac Surgery Business Sr Director and operationally to the General Cardiac Surgery IBP Director. You will manage a team of 2 direct reports and 5 dotted-line country-level Sales Operations Specialists. In this role, you will also be a key voice in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, ensuring WE commercial demand aligns with financial goals and global operations. Responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership & Planning: Contribute to building and executing the strategic vision for the CS business in WE; act as the strategic representative for demand in IBP, Long-Range Planning, and S&O; forums. Team Management & Coaching: Lead, manage, and coach a team of direct and indirect Sales Operations Specialists across WE and local countries, fostering collaboration and performance. Demand Forecasting & Allocation: Plan and communicate quarterly demand to meet financial targets; engage with Global Operations and Marketing to drive product allocation and availability, ensuring fairness and continuous improvement. Inventory & Product Availability: Lead initiatives to reduce inventory with measurable KPIs; ensure product availability to key customers by collaborating with sales and marketing leaders. Operational & Custom Pack Oversight: Oversee custom pack processes, streamline portfolio rationalization, and ensure regulatory compliance. Quality & Complaint Management: Monitor quality processes, including complaints and field escalations; improve complaint procedures for timely resolution. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate across functions, lead governance boards, and promote process improvements, staying informed on competitive products and product phase-outs. Required Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, or related field, with 5–10 years in manufacturing or MedTech, including supply chain, planning, operations, or finance. Proven experience managing cross-functional and cross-country teams (3–5+ people) with knowledge of IBP, demand planning, and inventory management. Experience with field inventory, complaint handling, quality processes, and product lifecycle management. Strong influencing skills and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to operate independently within a matrixed, multicultural organization. Advanced skills in Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). Experience in healthcare or MedTech, especially in surgical or cardiac products, familiarity with product allocation, demand vs. financial forecasting, supply resolution, custom packs, and process optimization are advantageous.
