Freelance SAP SD Consultant | ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Strong hands-on experience delivering, supporting, and stabilising SAP SD solutions within complex SAP landscapes
- Proven expertise across core SAP SD processes including Order to Cash, Sales Orders, Pricing, Billing, Shipping, and Credit Management
- Demonstrated experience stabilising SAP SD environments following assessments, audits, or fit gap analyses, with the ability to translate findings into corrective configuration and process actions
- Solid understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA sales architecture, including Business Partner integration, output management, and SD impacts across logistics and finance
- Experience resolving SD processing issues including pricing inconsistencies, billing errors, delivery blocks, credit issues, and SD FI integration failures
- Strong capability in collaborating with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Logistics, and SAP technical teams to align system behaviour with commercial and operational requirements
- Highly analytical, structured, and detail oriented with a disciplined approach to root cause analysis and system stabilisation
- Self sufficient, delivery focused, and comfortable operating as a freelance consultant in a fast paced transformation environment
- Previous experience supporting SAP S/4HANA programmes, RISE with SAP initiatives, or SD related system upgrades
- Knowledge of SAP SD configuration including pricing procedures, condition techniques, output determination, and credit management
- Familiarity with SAP transport management, change governance, and defect remediation during critical project phases
- Experience working alongside system integrators or AMS providers in an extended delivery or support model
- Understanding of end to end Order to Cash cycles and operational constraints within enterprise sales organisations
- Ability to produce clear documentation, remediation plans, and stakeholder ready status updates
Freelance SAP SD Consultant | OVERVIEW:
Our client is undertaking a major SAP S/4HANA transformation programme from 2026 to 2027 and is seeking an experienced Freelance SAP SD Consultant to stabilise and optimise their existing SAP Sales and Distribution landscape during a critical project phase.
This contract role is focused on stabilising the current SAP SD environment based on an existing fit gap assessment, addressing identified issues, improving Order to Cash reliability, and ensuring the solution is robust and fit for purpose ahead of and during the broader S 4 transformation.
Working closely with internal SAP, Sales, Logistics, and Finance stakeholders, the consultant will resolve operational pain points, remediate configuration gaps, and ensure SAP SD integrates cleanly with SAP FI, MM, and logistics processes. The role requires a hands on delivery mindset, strong SAP SD expertise, and the ability to operate independently within a complex programme environment.
This is a time bound, outcome driven engagement offering the opportunity to play a key role in de risking a major SAP transformation and delivering tangible commercial process stability ahead of a large scale enterprise upgrade.
