A Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, utilizing research and analytical skills to produce pragmatic and provocative insights that clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives. The Director is a trusted source of advice, engaging clients through in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits, and Gartner conferences to discuss complex challenges and offer appropriate recommendations. /p h3What you will do /h3 ul liCreate innovative, thought‑provoking, highly leveraged “must-have insights” content /li liDevelop new insights and ideas through thought leadership and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client needs and requests that accelerate the client’s ability to act /li liDevelop in‑depth analysis to identify the root cause of a client’s barriers or overall needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward /li liDemonstrate thought leadership in establishing insight positions across a team of analysts /li liBring provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can evolve the course of a research agenda /li liResearch, analyze and predict market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights /li liProvide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area via virtual or face‑to‑face interactions /li liCreate and deliver high‑value presentation materials on and off stage for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings /li liSupport BTI and Sales: provide sales support as the voice of the market to help insights teams create content and drive engagement with clients to progress against critical priorities and grow their business /li liProvide high‑quality, timely content peer review /li liBuild credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner insights, methodology and strategy /li liActively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the insights community /li liIdentify research process improvements or develop new processes that help the team and BTI deliver excellent service /li liMentor and coach more junior team members /li liMaintain a client‑centric focus while actively seeking to help clients engage regularly and often with Gartner insights and interactions /li /ul h3What you will need /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred /li li10+ years of relevant field or industry experience /li liKnowledge of AI‑driven supply chain strategy and operations /li liStrong data‑management background; demonstrate the importance of data in supply‑chain ecosystems /li liExecutive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and other stakeholders /li liStrong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high‑quality deliverables /li liExcellence in research and writing ability /li liStrong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions /li liProficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges /li liStrong communication skills – able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply /li liSubject‑matter expertise; comfortable presenting at large and small‑scale speaking engagements /li liStrong business and financial acumen /li liDeep knowledge of the integral and competitive landscape within the subject area and the interplay in that market /li liAbility to work independently while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support others in a multicultural global team /li liAgility in learning and adept at navigating highly matrixed environments /li liAbility to represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels /li liWillingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable) /li /ul h3Who are we /h3 pAt Gartner, Inc.
