Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead procurement, vendor management, and commercial governance for global WAN and connectivity services. This role is responsible for managing telecom vendors, driving cost optimization, ensuring SLA adherence, and delivering data-driven insights through reporting and analytics.
This is not a hands-on network engineering role. The position focuses on vendor interaction, commercial oversight, and performance analytics within WAN environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for telecom providers and ISPs
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, renewals, and negotiations
- Monitor SLA compliance and drive timely issue resolution
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize vendor spend
- Collaborate with vendors on pricing benchmarks and bandwidth optimization
2. Procurement & Cost Optimization
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities for WAN/telecom services
- Validate ISP billing and eliminate discrepancies or overcharges
- Drive cost governance initiatives and ensure budget adherence
- Recommend decommissioning of underutilized or redundant circuits
3. Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on:
- Network usage and bandwidth trends
- Vendor performance and SLA metrics
- Cost analysis and optimization opportunities
- Provide actionable insights to stakeholders using Excel and Power BI
- Support data-driven decision-making through regular reporting cycles
4. WAN Inventory & Governance
- Maintain accurate inventory of WAN circuits, bandwidth, and service details
- Ensure data integrity and availability for stakeholders
- Oversee and track MACD (Moves, Adds, Changes, Decommissions) activities
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for smooth execution
- Conduct periodic reviews of WAN performance and vendor efficiency
- Evaluate new connectivity solutions (e.G., SD-WAN, 5G) from a commercial and feasibility perspective
- Contribute to long‑term connectivity strategy aligned with business goals
Required Skills & ExperienceExperience
- Strong experience in telecom/WAN procurement, vendor management, xhfqzwm or service delivery
- Proven track record in managing ISPs, telecom vendors, and contracts
- Experience in cost optimization, billing validation, and SLA management
- Exposure to WAN environments (non-engineering focus preferred)
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in data reporting and insights generation
- Basic understanding of WAN/telecom services (circuits, bandwidth, connectivity types)
Soft Skills
- Excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, process-driven environment
