Senior Global Trial Managers (SGTMs) are essential to clinical trial delivery, working with clinical teams to bring new drugs to market faster and improve patient lives. They are part of the core project team responsible for the clinical delivery of large, multi-regional studies, ensuring compliance with SOPs, policies, and practices. SGTMs lead clinical teams and collaborate with other functional teams to meet project delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
* Ensure clinical delivery of assigned projects in compliance with regulatory requirements (ICH-GCP), protocols, customer contracts, policies, SOPs, and project plans.
* Meet project clinical targets and contribute to risk mitigation planning throughout the project lifecycle.
* Maintain clinical quality by setting standards, measuring compliance, and managing quality issues.
* Manage clinical aspects of projects, including scope, changes, and out-of-scope work through Change in Scope processes.
* Serve as the primary contact for the customer project manager.
* Identify and manage internal and external clinical stakeholders through effective communication.
* Support milestone achievement by collaborating with the clinical team and reporting to stakeholders.
* Plan and manage clinical team resources, including training and development.
* Conduct team meetings and provide performance feedback.
* Support corporate initiatives and serve as a change advocate.
* Contribute to clinical delivery strategies, bid proposals, and operational planning.
* Mentor and coach new team members and support site visits as needed.
Requirements
* Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience.
* Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a scientific discipline.
* 7+ years of clinical research/monitoring experience or equivalent.
* Knowledge of project management practices and terminology.
* Understanding of GCP, ICH guidelines, and clinical research regulations.
* Broad protocol and therapeutic knowledge.
* Familiarity with the clinical research industry and relevant environments.
* Understanding of project finances related to clinical monitoring and scope changes.
