The Corporate Strategy – Market Research Lead supports the Head of Corporate Strategy in providing rigorous deep and “from the ground” market data analysis through continuous & consistent assessment to facilitate key decision making at executive committee level.The role plays a significant part in raising the bar company-wide by providing deep understanding of ecosystem markets through the “Market Center of Excellence” (Market Lighthouse), building & regularly updating market models for key ecosystem products (e.g. Accommodation, M&E) & materials with outcome of analysis to become the point of reference for market data for the organization through updates on key industry trends, market news & competitive landscape (incl. Q-reporting reflections).The position also supports in the Strategy Planning Program, fostering a collaboration framework between Commercial Strategy, Finance (Budget & forecasting) and Commercial Planning & Performance functions by ensuring ownership and accountability per function as well as key milestones to deliver Strategic Plan (e.g. 3YP).Responsibilities: Develops Market Lighthouse “Centre of Excellence” reports by continuous market assessment of market trends, company results, threats & opportunities that will significantly impact our business, through:Building of internal proprietary Ecosystem Market models to understand market size, growth evolution and key trends, including correlation analysis with macroeconomic KPIs to accurately forecast travel industry growthPrimary research (“hands-on knowledge centre”) through quarterly analysis of key listed travel companies, external data experts (e.g. Euromonitor, PW, Bank research, etc), key internal stakeholders (Sales, Sourcing, Product, etc) and leveraging attendance to major trade conferencesDevelop competitive landscape reports to understand key competitors strategic goals, size, growth, profitability…to enable management drive strategic/commercial actionsRegular (weekly) key stock market highlights shared with the Exco/Board/investorsEnables the definition of HBX group strategy by supporting the annual Strategic Planning Process, through: Strategic Fact-base: Identification of key internal / external business issues & opportunities through deep analysis of market trends, competitors outlook, HBX performance trends, etc.Key Strategy Pillars: selection of key strategic objectives in conjunction with senior management to enable strategic initiatives definitionStrategy Planning framework: Definition of quality standards & cross-collaboration framework across Performance, Commercial Strategy & Commercial Planning & Performance teams to deliver strategic initiatives definition & quantification (P&L supported by key topline drivers and cost / capex requirements) to set a clear quantifiable strategic plan for the companySkills:Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation (to drive strategic decisions)Solid analytical, problem solving, creative thinking and communication skills (verbal and written)Strong financial acumen (strong understanding of financial principles and budgeting processes)Strong presentation skills to synthesize complex topics into actionable insights (for senior stakeholders)Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsStrong ability to build relationships with senior internal stakeholdersExperience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience performing market research/analysis & synthesizing insights in a Strategy Consulting firm or at global organizations.Qualifications:Management, Engineering or relatedAt HBX Group, we believe that diversity drives innovation and makes travel a force for good.
