Hitachi Energy is establishing and developing an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU). We are seeking highly qualified engineers in Power Electronics, Grid Integration, and Research and Development (R&D) to join us in this exciting opportunity.
How You’ll Make An Impact
* Undertake various simulation studies individually or as part of a team on a daily basis.
* Prepare reports from studies and present findings to customers.
* Understand customer needs by reviewing specifications and participating in meetings.
* Coordinate and communicate with all disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries, and maintain close connection with research and development activities.
* Demonstrate a strong ambition for learning and sharing critical power system knowledge.
* Maintain frequent contact with other engineering disciplines, project managers, customers, and Hitachi Energy units in an international environment.
* Work independently and in a team, assuming responsibility for assigned tasks as a key to success.
Your Background
* Hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Have experience in power systems analysis.
* Preferred familiarity with programs and tools such as RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, MATLAB, EMTP‑RV, etc.
* Merit if you have prior tender experience, including cost estimation, coordination with sales, and understanding customer specifications.
* Fluent communication in English is essential for our international environment.
Willingness to travel: Required up to 10%.
