We are currently looking for a Director of Finance Business Partner to join our Executive team at Rosewood Villa Magna Madrid. The Director of Finance Business Partner reports directly to the Managing Director and is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of business and driving the Hotel's financial strategy, safeguarding the hotel assets and financial resources to ensure that all are utilized to maximize revenues and hotel profitability, as well as for compliance with internal controls and procedures.
The role will also provide timely and accurate financial information and counsel to hotel senior management and hotel owners. She / he will ensure that the hotel operates within all related local and corporate policies and procedures and under the terms of the Management Agreement.
Key expectations of this role:
* Responsible for assessing the financial performance of the Hotel as well as possible risks and investments.
* Overseeing all accounting and finance aspects of the hotel including month end procedures, accounts receivable, cost control, income audit, cashiering, accounts payable and general ledger in accordance with Rosewood’s policies & procedures.
* Continuously identifying and developing areas for business improvement and motivating key stakeholders to actively engage in the process through analysis & planning.
* Acting as a coach and mentor to the Finance team by providing guidance and support in maintaining high performance and engagement.
* Showing a sound understanding of the hotel operation paired with expert finance knowledge to provide valuable insights to support the leadership team in achieving maximum profitability in their areas of responsibility.
* Lead performance analysis, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
* Verify fixed assets are purchased according to the capital expenditure budget, amounts are properly recorded, and the fixed assets ledger is completed.
Profile:
* Excellent communication skills in both English & Spanish preferred.
* Solid knowledge of managing complex budgets, financial analysis and forecasting.
* Extensive experience of setting up processes and controls in an operating hotel.
* Experience of leading and managing the performance of the Finance function, upholding exceptional levels of standards.
* Experience building and nurturing strong relationships with all associates in the hotel.
* Must be detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality of output.
* Proven experience of managing various stakeholders, including external partners and owners.
* Knowledge of Spanish statutory accounting and fiscal rules is a benefit.
* You have at least 3-5 years of a similar leading position in finance preferably in the hospitality industry.
* Knowledge of SUN Systems, Birchstreet, Opera, Simphony is an advantage.
