Position Overview
Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is hiring multiple Support Engineer IV positions in Arlington, Virginia. This role focuses on technical support for AWS services, troubleshooting complex customer issues, and providing communication during critical events.
Position Responsibilities
* Provide technical support via phone, chat, and email, applying advanced troubleshooting techniques for critical, highly complex issues spanning multiple AWS services.
* Work with development teams to improve end‑to‑end service support.
* Drive customer communication during critical events.
* Write tutorials, how‑to videos, and other technical articles for the AWS customer community and internal training.
* Assist customers on AWS cloud architecture, migration, and performance troubleshooting.
* Mentor junior support engineers.
Position Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent foreign degree).
* One year of experience in the offered role or a related occupation. Three years of equivalent experience may be considered in place of a bachelor's degree.
* One year of experience in:
o Linux or Windows systems administration.
o At least one of the following:
+ Database administration: MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS‑SQL, MariaDB.
+ NoSQL technologies: DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra, and ETL tools for data workflow jobs.
+ Network administration: DNS, TCP/IP, BGP, Load Balancing, IPSEC, SSL VPN solutions.
+ Virtualization: Hypervisors, VMware, Xen.
+ Programming languages: C++, Java, C#, .NET, Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby.
+ Chef/Puppet or DevOps background with demonstrated knowledge of Git, Perforce, SVN, or TFVC.
