Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) is looking for a M&A Associate (Infrastructure & Industrials) based out of Luca de Tena office (Madrid)
At Santander CIB, you will be part of a leading global investment banking platform advising sophisticated corporate and institutional clients on some of the most relevant transactions in the market. You will gain meaningful exposure to live deals, work closely with senior bankers, and build your career in one of the most dynamic sectors in EMEA. You can expect:
1. Meaningful deal exposure: Work on live, complex transactions from day one, with real responsibility on core analytical and execution workstreams
2. Senior access and mentorship: Work closely with senior bankers and experienced deal teams
3. Cross‑border perspective: Collaborate with colleagues across EMEA and product partners to deliver integrated advice to corporates and financial sponsors
As an Associate, you will support both origination and live execution across a wide range of transactions, with increasing ownership of core analytical and execution workstreams.
Your responsibilities will include:
4. Lead and manage the execution of complex M&A and capital markets transactions
5. Oversee financial analysis, valuation, and modelling exercises
6. Develop and present strategic advice to clients, including board-level executives
7. Coordinate with Santander’s product teams and external advisers (accounting, legal, etc.)
8. Drive marketing initiatives and support business development efforts
9. Mentor and develop junior team members, providing training and guidance
10. Support recruiting activities for the team
11. Ensure high-quality client deliverables and maintain strong client relationships

Professional Experience
12. + years of significant experience in Investment Banking within the Infrastructure and/or Industrials sectors
Education
13. Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university with a strong academic track record
Languages
14. Fluency in English and Spanish (Required)
15. Additional European languages (Preferred)
Hard Skills
16. Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, including advanced Excel modelling and valuation expertise
17. Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
Soft Skills
18. Proven project management and leadership skills
19. Ability to take initiative and ownership of tasks
20. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and defend recommendations
21. Deep interest in Infrastructure and/or Industrials businesses and industries trends
