We are seeking a Procurement Category Manager based in Barcelona.
The role involves managing critical materials and services agreements and procurement strategies in Southern Europe, significantly impacting the Package, Bulk, and Traded Gases / Raw Material business sectors.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, negotiate, implement, and sustain commodity strategies aligned with business objectives.
2. Prioritize projects with stakeholders including supply chain, customer engineering, and hospitals business units.
3. Serve as the single point of contact for Package Business, Traded Business, and other SE commodities.
4. Gain market knowledge and intelligence for relevant commodities and business areas.
5. Create benchmarks to understand market conditions, pricing trends, demand/capacity constraints, and supplier stability.
6. Participate in service level review agreements for major contracts and resolve commercial issues.
7. Define and implement strategies to reduce sole sourcing.
8. Manage supplier relationships, resolve conflicts, and ensure supplier performance aligns with safety, ethical, and reliability standards.
9. Review and negotiate contract terms with legal support to mitigate risks.
10. Process purchase orders, manage invoices, and address other commercial issues.
11. Identify and implement improvements in procurement-to-pay processes.
12. Ensure compliance with all relevant agreements and procedures.
13. Support procurement M&A activities as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
2. Proven experience in sourcing strategies, purchasing terms, and international markets.
3. Knowledge of SAP ERP systems.
4. Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
5. Self-motivated with ownership of issues and resolution skills.
6. Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English; French and Portuguese are advantageous.

Location: Office-based with some travel to suppliers and sites.
Countries Served: Spain, Portugal, Northern Africa, Italy.
