About The Role
The Transaction Specialist is responsible for processing, reviewing, and reconciling financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role supports day‑to‑day accounting operations, including transaction posting, documentation, and reporting, while collaborating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Process and record financial transactions accurately and timely in the accounting system
* Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
* Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve transaction‑related issues
* Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions
* Support month‑end and year‑end close activities related to transaction processing
* Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger activities as assigned
* Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to clarify transaction details
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within transaction workflows
* Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* 2+ years of experience in accounting, transaction processing, or a related role
* Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial transactions
* Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (NetSuite desirable)
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools
* High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Skills & Competencies
* English and Norwegian or Swedish or Dutch language skills are a must
* Analytical and problem‑solving abilities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Integrity and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
* Team‑oriented with the ability to work independently
