Project Manager (Automation, BMS, and Energy Controls) (On-site) - Zaragoza
\n
What are we looking for?
\n- Project Manager (Automation, BMS, and Energy Controls) to support the delivery of hyperscale data center projects. This role is unique: you will act as the owner's representative overseeing automation, building management systems (BMS), and energy controls scopes for mission‑critical facilities.\n
Responsibilities
\n
\n
- Project Governance: Manage automation, BMS, and energy controls scopes for hyperscale data center projects from design development through construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring alignment with owner requirements, schedules, and budgets.
\n
- Owner's Representation: Act as the owner's representative for all automation and controls‑related activities, serving as the primary liaison between the owner, designers, system integrators, general contractors, and commissioning teams.
\n
- Design Coordination: Oversee the integration of automation, BMS, electrical, mechanical, and IT systems to ensure seamless operation of mission‑critical data center environments.
\n
- Schedule & Cost Control: Develop, track, and report on schedules, budgets, and forecasts related to automation and energy controls scopes within large‑scale data center programs.
\n
- Technical Oversight: Review control strategies, sequence of operations, system architectures, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with owner standards and hyperscale data center performance requirements.
\n
- Procurement Support: Support the technical review of submittals and procurement plans for long‑lead automation, controls, and energy management equipment.
\n
- Risk Management: Identify automation‑ and energy‑related risks impacting data center uptime, redundancy, and scalability, and lead mitigation strategies with project stakeholders.
\n
- Submittals & RFI Management: Manage and expedite submittals, RFI's, and field changes related to automation, BMS, and energy controls to prevent schedule impacts and construction delays.
\n
- Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and present detailed project status reports, dashboards, and executive‑level presentations to owner leadership and program management teams.
\n
- Commissioning & Handover Support: Support commissioning and turnover activities to ensure automation and energy systems meet mission‑critical and operational readiness requirements.
\n
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all automation and controls deliverables comply with applicable codes, owner standards, and Decima's quality management practices.
\n
- Design of control solutions in companies.
\n
\n\n
- Dialogue with operators and service companies. Preparation of communications and security audit reports.
\n
- Specialized support for the realization of commercial proposals, offering support to the pre‑sales area.
\n
- Compliance with estimated times for the resolution of each task, adjusting to the set times.
\n
- Level 3 incident resolution.
\n
- Direct relationship with clients, which involves: Delivery of commercial proposals, negotiation of prices and organization of work planning.
\n
\n
Qualifications
\n\n
- 10+ years of professional experience managing automation, BMS, or controls scopes on mission‑critical or large‑scale industrial projects.
\n
- Demonstrated experience supporting hyperscale data center projects or similar mission‑critical facilities (e.g., data centers, semiconductor fabs, critical infrastructure).
\n
- Proven ability to act as an owner's representative in a client‑facing, consulting environment.
\n
- Strong experience with project scheduling, cost control, and risk management for complex technical systems.
\n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior client and executive stakeholders.
\n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project or construction management platforms.
\n
\n
Preferred Qualifications
\n\n
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
\n
- Direct experience with hyperscale data center clients or operators.
\n
- Familiarity with BMS and automation platforms used in data centers (e.g., Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Johnson Controls).
\n
- Experience supporting commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST) for mission‑critical facilities.
\n
- Experience with Design‑Build or fast‑track delivery models.
\n
