Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist, you are a key healthcare professional specializing in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with physical limitations or injuries. Your expertise in movement science and rehabilitation allows you to develop personalized treatment plans to restore function, reduce pain, and improve mobility. Key responsibilities include:
* Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct clinical examinations and diagnostic tests to identify impairments and functional limitations, forming a holistic understanding of each patient's condition.
* Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments, patient goals, and evidence-based guidelines. Use interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and patient education to address impairments and promote well-being.
* Manual Therapy and Therapeutic Techniques: Perform hands-on techniques like joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and stretching. Prescribe therapeutic exercises and neuromuscular re-education to enhance strength, flexibility, and control.
* Pain Management and Modalities: Apply treatment modalities tailored to patient needs, monitoring responses and adjusting as necessary.
* Functional Training and Rehabilitation: Guide patients through mobility, gait, and ADL training, incorporating real-life scenarios and environmental modifications to facilitate skill transfer to home and community settings.
Qualifications
* Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
* Current license/certification in the state of practice
