Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced BI Developer (Freelance) to support the development and enhancement of business intelligence and data analytics solutions for a major client operating in the aviation and air traffic management sector.
The role focuses on designing and delivering Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions, working with Oracle-based analytical data sources, and leveraging Databricks for data processing and advanced analytics workflows.
You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights, supporting operational and strategic decision-making within a mission-critical aviation environment.
This is a hybrid role based in Brussels (Haren) with regular on-site collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
* Build and optimize data models, datasets, and semantic layers for reporting and analytics.
* Extract, transform, and analyze data from Oracle databases and analytical platforms.
* Work with Databricks to support data transformation, preparation, and analytical workloads.
* Collaborate with data engineers to ensure efficient data pipelines and reliable data availability.
* Translate business and operational requirements into scalable BI and reporting solutions.
* Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting solutions.
* Optimize report performance, queries, and data models.
* Document BI solutions, data models, and reporting processes.
Required Experience
* 3+ years of experience as a BI Developer / Data Analytics Developer.
* Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
* Experience working with Oracle databases and writing advanced SQL queries.
* Experience with Databricks and modern data processing environments.
* Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
* Ability to work with large and complex datasets.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders.
