Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer, AWS Infrastructure Operations
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring an Engineering Technician to support our data centers. The Technician will ensure the availability and reliability of data center operations, maintaining service levels.
The Data Center Engineering Technician is responsible for maintaining electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment supporting mission-critical servers, aiming for over 99.999% uptime. They will uphold high reliability and performance while minimizing operational costs.
Technicians are hands-on troubleshooters for electrical and mechanical equipment, maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting facilities including diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, batteries, CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, and motors.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
* Perform maintenance tasks such as filter changes, battery PMs, and PDU replacements
* Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues
* Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events
* Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site
* Work on-call and rotating schedules
* Take operational readings and report metrics
* Support ticketing, root cause analysis, and task prioritization
A Day in the Life
The Technician will ensure proper operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, including site walks, working at heights, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working shifts longer than eight hours.

Qualifications
* Associate's or Technical Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
* 2+ years in a Data Center or Mission Critical Environment
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
* 4+ years of Data Center Operation Experience
* Basic knowledge of network design, low voltage cabling
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
