Payload Engineer – 5G NTN (Satellite Communications) Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states. We are looking for a Payload Engineer with strong background in 5G networks to support the definition and integration of communications payloads within a LEO satellite constellation. The role focuses on 5G NTN integration, network architecture and end to end connectivity, bridging satellite and terrestrial networks. Responsibilities

Contribute to the definition of the communications payload from a 5G perspective

Support integration of 5G NTN within the system
\n
Define end-to-end connectivity concepts between space and ground segments
\n
Work with system, network and ground teams to ensure interoperability
\n
Participate in testing, validation and pilots Requirements
\n
Experience in 5G networks (RAN, Open RAN, architecture or deployment)

Strong understanding of telecom network architecture
\n
Background in operators, vendors or engineering consultancies
