We are searching for a Contract Manager for our Transformer business, based at our factory in Cordoba. In this role, you will ensure that contract and risk management activities are executed timely and accurately, protecting Hitachi Energy's interests throughout the project lifecycle. With an analytical, hands-on, and autonomous approach, you will contribute to the successful performance of Contract Management in your assigned project(s).
How You Will Make An Impact
* Contract Management Support: Provide comprehensive contract management support and reviews for sales, marketing, and project management teams, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and policies.
* Portfolio Leadership: Lead contract management activities for assigned portfolios/projects, ensuring compliance with procedures and guiding cross-functional teams.
* Strategic Development: Develop and implement contract management strategies, considering policies, customer requirements, consortium partner interfaces, and overall execution strategy, while identifying baselines and assessing risks and opportunities.
* Commercial Execution: Oversee the timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects within contract portfolios/subcontracts, including payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, and provisions.
* Tender Stage Support: Collaborate with marketing and sales teams during the tender stage to ensure legal terms and conditions in commercial proposals are fully aligned with company guidelines, and support risk assessment processes for new proposals.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with bonds and insurance provisions in contracts, coordinate with Finance and Insurance Risk Management, support damage report production, and handle export control matters, while developing and implementing risk mitigation and opportunity plans.
Your Background
* Minimum of 3 years experience in contract management within power generation, transformers, substations, converter stations, grid integration, transmission, or similar industrial plants.
* Experience in processing, managing, and administrating varying sizes, types, and complexities of contractual agreements during bidding, execution, and project closing stages. Previous experience in the energy industry is highly desirable.
* Experience in project change management, claim management, and legal issues related to contracts (change orders and force majeure events), and their effects on proposal and project execution.
* Bachelor's degree in Law is preferred; Engineering, Business Administration, or Economics are also suitable.
* Ability to read, write, speak, and negotiate fluently in both Spanish and English. Additional languages are a plus.
* Good communication skills and ability to interface and negotiate with stakeholders on contract and project matters, including review and change processes.
* Working knowledge and hands-on experience with product delivery contracts at an international level.
