As part of our expansion in the Essential Oils and Natural Ingredients sector, we are strengthening our commercial team to build deeper engagement across the global fragrance, ingredient, and consumer goods value chain.

Position Summary

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager with strong industry experience in fragrance & flavour (F&F) houses and ingredient traders/distributors, with a strong preference for candidates who can develop direct relationships with cosmetics, personal care, and FMCG manufacturers.

The role focuses on expanding our patchouli oil and natural ingredients portfolio across upstream and midstream channels, while progressively establishing strategic engagement with downstream manufacturers. This position will help position the company not only as a reliable upstream producer, but as a strategic natural ingredient partner to global customers.

The role will be regionally focused and may be based in markets such as the Middle East, India, South America, or key APAC regions depending on candidate profile and network strength.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Customer Development
o Identify, develop, and manage key accounts across priority customer segments:
o Primary focus:
+ Fragrance & flavour houses (global and regional)
+ Ingredient traders and distributors (natural ingredients / aroma chemicals)
o Preferred expansion focus:
+ Cosmetics & personal care manufacturers
+ FMCG manufacturers (home care, personal care, detergents, air care)
+ Contract manufacturers / OEM-ODM formulators
* Channel Expansion & Market Penetration
o Develop new customers for essential oils across assigned regional markets.
o Build strong relationships with procurement teams, perfumers, formulators, and R&D stakeholders.
o Map key buying hubs (e.g. Europe, India, Middle East, Latin America, APAC) and execute targeted penetration strategies.
o Establish and manage distributor networks where direct access is limited.
* Sales & Key Account Leadership
o Drive regional sales growth with clear revenue and margin objectives.
o Secure and grow strategic accounts within F&F houses, ingredient traders, and selected cosmetic/FMCG manufacturers.
o Negotiate supply agreements and develop long-term partnership frameworks.
o Maintain strong account retention through consistent engagement and service reliability.
* Industry Intelligence & Value Chain Insights
o Monitor global demand trends across perfumery, personal care, and home care sectors.
o Track pricing movements for patchouli oil and competing natural base note materials.
o Identify shifts in sourcing behaviour (e.g. sustainability, traceability, origin control).
o Provide structured market feedback to guide product positioning, including standard, aged, or specialty patchouli variants.
* Representation & Relationship Building
o Represent the company at international exhibitions, customer meetings, and industry events.
o Build long-term trust with perfumers, sourcing managers, and formulation teams.
o Act as the commercial bridge between production operations and international customers.
Job RequirementsEducation

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, International Trade, Chemistry, or related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 5–10 years of B2B commercial experience in one or more of the following sectors:

* – Fragrance & flavour houses
* – Essential oils / natural ingredients companies
* – Aroma chemical or specialty ingredient traders / distributors

Strongly preferred:

* • Proven exposure to supplying or managing accounts within:
* – Cosmetics & personal care manufacturers
* – Home care / household FMCG manufacturers
* – Contract manufacturers (OEM / ODM) in beauty or personal care
Commercial & Network Capabilities
* Established industry network within F&F houses or ingredient trading ecosystem is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to convert relationships into commercial supply agreements.
* Strong negotiation skills for long-term contracts and pricing discussions.
* Ability to navigate both midstream compounders and downstream manufacturers.
Technical & Market Understanding
* Good understanding of essential oils and natural aromatic ingredients used in perfumery, cosmetics, and home care formulations.
* Familiarity with product specifications, quality requirements, and customer qualification processes is advantageous.

* Independent, proactive, and comfortable operating in regional markets.
* Willingness to travel extensively across assigned territories.
* Strong presentation, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
