We are looking for a
Senior Business Development Manager
to work within Spain and our European growth markets. You will be accountable for leading energy storage sales for cross-functional teams. You will have a leading role to ensure we have predictable profitable sales, and project execution.You will be reporting to the Area Sales Director.The preferred location is in
Spain.Responsibilities:
Lead energy storage sales opportunities from the initial bid to award and contract executionVet customers and opportunities to ensure efficient resource useManage and maintain key account relationshipsEnsure correct pricing strategies and accurate cost estimationsLead stakeholders and project sales team to achieve business unit goalsUtilise S&OP data as a basis when assessing the correct cost estimations and schedulesEnsure tenders and requirements are understood in detail within the project sales team and high-quality offers are preparedEnsure risks are evaluated and mitigated properlyEnsure necessary internal reviews are conducted and approvals receivedEnsure Wärtsilä contracting policies are followed and proper contract terms are achievedLead contract negotiations and prepare winning sales negotiation strategiesManage and report the progress of project sales in CRM (Salesforce) accuratelyEnsure sales are properly transferred to the project execution teamRequirements:
5 years experience in the utility-scale renewable energy industry, with a strong preference toward candidates with prior battery energy storage experiencePromote and never sacrifice safetyIs a senior sales leader with a strong track record of leading high-performing cross-functional teamsSolution orientatedHas a strong track record of negotiating complex sales projectsContractual and risk management experienceInfluencing and communication skills especially when working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholdersLead by example and facilitate collaboration across organisationsBroad understanding of energy storage business, solutions, and market outlookHas commercial and customer mindset combined with a structural approachOutstanding team player and excellent coaching skillsDrive results with planning, change management, and execution skillsInspire people to take actions towards goalsAppreciate diversity and ability to build psychological safety and inclusion within the organisationReadiness to travelYour success will be measured bySuccessful project sales with end-to-end profitabilitySales team engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and customer satisfactionAt Wärtsilä we value, respect and embrace all our differences, and are committed to diversity, inclusion and equal employment opportunities;
