Role Overview
This is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing and expanding commercial operations in Spain’s pharmaceutical sector. The successful candidate will lead market entry efforts, drive sales growth, and oversee the launch of innovative biologic therapies, particularly in oncology and autoimmune diseases. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities and deep knowledge of the Spanish healthcare landscape.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute national commercial strategies aligned with global business goals.
* Conduct comprehensive market analysis, including competitor intelligence, pricing trends, and customer segmentation.
* Build and manage strategic relationships with hospitals, procurement bodies, regulatory authorities, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
* Lead the commercialization of current products and support the launch of pipeline therapies.
* Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing local commercial team.
* Ensure brand positioning, risk mitigation, and compliance with Spanish regulatory and legal standards.
* Represent the organization at industry events and external engagements to build visibility and credibility in the Spanish market.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medicine, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Marketing.
* At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on biologics.
* Proven track record in launching pharmaceutical products in Spain, especially in oncology and autoimmune areas.
* In-depth understanding of the Spanish hospital sales channel, including public and private procurement systems.
* Strong network within Spanish healthcare institutions and purchasing organizations.
* Demonstrated leadership in building and scaling commercial teams.
* Strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
* Native Spanish speaker with fluent English communication skills.
* Willingness to travel frequently within Spain and occasionally to international offices.
