In this role, you will lead Microsoft’s grid code strategy for European data centers, shaping regulatory engagement and compliance. You’ll build influence with TSOs, regulators, and technology OEMs to align grid codes with datacenter growth and sustainability goals. Collaborating across Engineering, Delivery, Legal and Sustainability, you’ll translate complex grid concepts for diverse audiences and drive timely decisions. This position offers high impact in enabling Microsoft’s leadership in AI infrastructure through robust, compliant grid solutions.
Compensaciones / Beneficios
• Develop trusted relationships with key external stakeholders (TSOs, NRAs, ACER, ENTSO-E, European Commission, data center associations, OEMs) to influence grid code development
• Represent Microsoft in external working groups on grid codes (EC, ENTSO-E, ACER, CIGRE, IEEE)
• Act as executive owner of the grid code development process, aligning with internal stakeholders to shape Microsoft’s regulatory position
• Support internal impact assessment of grid codes on data center design
• Support external knowledge sharing on technical opportunities and limitations of data centers with grid code requirements
• Travel as needed (~25%) to support business needs
Responsabilidades
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Significant experience in grid code development and/or grid code compliance xpzdshu
• Experience with power system modeling tools (DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSSe)
• Established relationships with TSOs and regulatory bodies
• Negotiation and strategic stakeholder management with TSOs, ACER, ENTSO-E, etc.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Ability to communicate and lead through ambiguity and deliver results on time
• Growth mindset and problem-solving skills
