Airbus Defence & Space is looking for a Flight Test Instrumentation System and Operations Engineer. The successful applicant will join a team based in Getafe and work in close connection with teams at different sites. The role supports the Flight Test Instrumentation System and Operations team, ensuring that flight test means systems are designed, developed, operated, and maintained to support all flight testing activities. The applicant will be part of the Engineering Department.
Responsibilities
Collect flight test means requirements: capture, challenge, and tailor solutions in close contact with stakeholders; agree on a flight test means verification and validation strategy.
Support design and production areas during the integration of flight test means into the aircraft.
Coordinate with the customer, airworthiness, and other external stakeholders to ensure the correct system is built and collect the necessary evidence to prove that the onboard system is fit for purpose and safe through a validation statement.
Operate flight test means (airborne and ground) while keeping safety standards; prepare the FTM for flight, perform functional checks, and support flight test campaigns.
Process data collected during flight testing activities and provide it to the customer with the necessary data; also store data according to required security levels.
Maintain the FTM configuration, keep it in an airworthy condition, perform necessary maintenance, and provide first‑level troubleshooting when required.
Qualifications
Degree level in Engineering.
3–5 years of relevant experience.
Spanish mother‑tongue or equivalent.
Advanced level in English; French and/or German skills will be valued.
