The Regulatory & Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international food regulations, standards, and customer-specific requirements.
This role supports the company's operations, quality, and R&D teams by interpreting regulatory guidelines, coordinating raw materials and final product approvals, and maintaining documentation for regulatory submissions.
The role requires regular communication with external regulatory bodies, customers, and internal stakeholders, as well as the ability to manage multiple regulatory projects and product portfolios.
Responsibilities
* Ensure company compliance with applicable food laws and regulations (EU, US FDA, Codex, etc.).
* Serve as the contact point for Natural Colors customer questionnaires.
* Monitor regulatory changes and proactively inform relevant departments of new or amended requirements.
* Maintain and update regulatory documentation such as specifications, MSDS's, declarations and others.
* Prepare and submit product registrations, certifications and label approvals as required by target markets.
* Evaluate raw materials and supplier documentation for regulatory compliance.
* Review and approve product labels, packaging and marketing materials for compliance with relevant regulations.
* Assist in handling audits and inspections by regulatory bodies and customers.
* Contribute to the development and revision of internal policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements.
* Support R&D during new product development phase.
* Provide training to internal stakeholders on regulatory topics and awareness.
Skills and competencies
* B.Sc. in Food Science, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in regulatory affairs in the food or beverage industry, with a focus on Natural Colors.
* Familiarity with global food regulations (e.G., EU, FDA, CODEX, EFSA).
* Regulatory & Quality Assurance Specialist communication skills.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
* Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
* Proficiency in documentation management systems and MS Office Suite.
