Due to continued growth in competition and antitrust matters, they are seeking to appoint a Senior Competition Economist.RoleYou will lead complex competition engagements, manage senior client relationships, and oversee teams delivering economic analysis in high-stakes contentious and investigatory settings.The role involves shaping analytical strategy, directing project execution, and ensuring delivery against demanding client objectives across international matters.Key Responsibilities
Lead a portfolio of competition-focused engagements, overseeing delivery across multiple mattersDirect and support project teams in conducting rigorous economic and quantitative analysisShape analytical strategy and ensure high-quality outputs, including clear and well-structured written reportsTake ownership of senior client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser throughout the lifecycle of engagementsContribute to the development of innovative approaches to complex economic questionsPresent proposals and analytical findings to prospective and existing clientsSupport effective project planning, resourcing and delivery against commercial objectivesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior economists, maintaining high analytical standardsEnsure appropriate governance and internal reporting processes are maintained Key Skills
Ph D in Economics required, with expertise in competition, industrial organisation or related disciplinesExperience within economic consulting, regulatory or competition-focused advisory environmentsStrong quantitative and econometric capability, with proficiency in tools such as Python, R, Stata or equivalentComfortable working with complex and large-scale datasetsProven ability to manage engagements and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelinesClear and persuasive communication skills, able to distil complex analysis for varied audiencesHigh professional integrity, intellectual curiosity and sound judgementInterest in mentoring colleagues and contributing to a collaborative environmentProactive approach to relationship-building and broader business development activity Benefits
