Project summary:
Extracellular targeted protein degradation has emerged as a new therapeutic modality in the past few years. Several this strategy are already in clinical trials and many exciting avenues remain to be explored in this new thriving field. In this project, we aim to develop a new platform to generate smart protein degraders with superior selectivity and degradation efficiency. We will then aim to generate smart protein-based degraders for the treatment of brain tumors. This project is highly interdisciplinary, involving protein design, directed evolution, bioconjugation, and proteomics, as well as cell-based assays and efficacy tests in mice. The candidate will be involved in all stages of the project, focusing on protein development and cellular experiments.
The candidate will be part of the Chemical & Synthetic Biology for Biotherapeutics (ChemSynBio) group, a young, dynamic, and international group at IQS Barcelona. * The contract will be for period of 3 years, with the possibility of an extension).
