The position of the Process Engineer Team Leader, under the supervision of the management team at the department, is defined to support manufacturing activities as the gatekeeper of the Industrialization process. This role involves ensuring the GSM recipes for production are accurate, providing optimal equipment configurations, and developing manufacturing costing routes and instructions that properly allocate production resources.
Job Function
First Lot Control / Launch / Industrialization process contributions:
* Scale-up and commercialization of laboratory paint formulas.
* Provide solutions for production routes and serve as a bridge between R&D and Plant manufacturing scale.
* Support batch consistency as defined by First Run Capability (FRC) or First Time Quality (FTQ), ensuring 100% of FLA with no adjustments in stable items as part of the FLC loop.
* Support root cause analysis of internal non-conformities to achieve 80% RCE identification.
* Propose standard processes that can be strengthened or better defined.
* Provide feedback to the department in external problem-solving discussions with customers. Support SSPL / AMU strategies of the plant.
GSM / Oracle R12 Manufacturing Support
* Support formula drivers in the system.
* Facilitate cost-effective conversion of raw materials to finished goods.
* Build 3 VSMs and contribute to identifying activities for potential revision and optimization.
* Support the creation of standard process instructions for production.
Manufacturing EHS & Quality System
* Develop and maintain EHS and local process requirements such as PSM, PHA’s, PSSR’s, and work instructions.
Process Engineer Level Team Leader
* Must be recognized as a process and product expert supporting the plant.
* Support the Process Safety Plant Committee in hazard and risk analysis.
* Manage multiple unit operations, equipment, and process technologies.
* Support start-up activities and manage complex unit operations. Be trained and capable of applying LEAN Sigma, Green Belt, DOE, or other quality tools.
* Demonstrate customer presentation skills.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
* Effective interpersonal and human relations skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to drive project tasks forward effectively.
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
