This role is an opportunity to shape how procurement is delivered remotely for the very first time in our organization. We are looking for someone who thrives with autonomy, loves problem solving, and is energized by supporting stakeholders across borders.
As a Purchasing Specialist / Buyer in the global procurement hub in Madrid, you will play a key role in delivering high quality, cost effective, and compliant procurement services for Straumann Group entities and corporate functions across Europe, including our global HQ in Basel. You will support operational and tactical purchasing activities, help drive procurement excellence, and act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders who are transitioning towards more structured procurement ways of working.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational & Tactical Buying
Execute purchasing of materials, goods, and services for multiple Straumann Group entities and corporate functions.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with Straumann policies, category strategies, and regulatory requirements.
Manage Requests for Quotation/Proposals for non-critical or lower-value categories (tail spend).
Create and manage Purchase Orders end to end: confirmations, shipment tracking, issue resolution, delivery follow up.
Stakeholder Support & Service Quality
Serve as the first point of contact for internal users and suppliers, ensuring a high level of service and responsiveness.
Build trustful relationships with teams across Europe by communicating clearly, supporting them remotely, and helping them navigate procurement processes.
Understand daily operational needs and future demand to proactively plan and support business requirements.
Supplier Interaction & Performance
Support supplier communication, clarification of operational issues, and simple negotiations aligned with category strategies.
Contribute to cost savings, supply efficiency, and quality improvements.
Support ESG related initiatives with suppliers and internal teams.
Process & Systems
Maintain accurate master data and vendor information in the ERP system (SAP).
Ensure data quality and support continuous improvement of P2P processes.
Contribute to local and regional procurement improvement initiatives.
Your Profile - QualificationsProfile
Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field.
Languages: English, fluent (written and spoken). French required (ideally B2 level).
Experience
1–2 years in a procurement‐related role is an advantage, but a strong growth mindset matters more.
Experience with SAP and P2P processes is preferred but not mandatory.
Comfortable interacting with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, bring energy, and take ownership.
