Role Overview
GXO is seeking a Vice President of Communications & Marketing for Continental Europe, a region spanning 14 countries, with responsibility for leading the development and execution of an integrated marcomm strategy that accelerates growth, enhances brand awareness and drives engagement. This role, which reports directly to the Chief Communications & Marketing Officer, and matrixes to the President of Continental Europe, has responsibility for communications for the Region President as well as region-wide marketing and communications execution, stakeholder engagement and culture initiatives.
The Vice President will manage a team of 10 across Media Relations, Marketing and Internal Communications, driving integrated programs that strengthen GXO's market position, support business growth and elevate our reputation. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in B2B marketing, brand strategy, executive positioning, media relations and issues management, with a proven ability to deliver measurable impact in complex, multi-country environments
Key Responsibilities
Communications Strategy
* Elevate GXO's profile in top-tier business and trade media through proactive media relations and compelling storytelling.
* Lead issues and crisis management for the region, ensuring timely, accurate, and strategic response.
* Drive executive positioning and thought leadership initiatives to showcase GXO's innovation and expertise.
* Collaborate with senior leadership, regional teams and external partners to amplify GXO's profile and impact.
Marketing-driven sales growth
* Develop and execute a regional marketing strategy aligned with global priorities to drive brand awareness, lead generation and customer engagement.
* Partner closely with regional and country sales leaders to develop marketing strategies for each country as well as new markets and sectors
* Oversee B2B marketing programs and campaigns, including content marketing, digital campaigns, events, and thought leadership initiatives.
* Ensure brand consistency and impactful messaging across all channels and markets.
Internal Communications
* Drive a standardized approach and employee engagement across the markets using a One Team ethos.
* Foster employee engagement through clear, consistent, and inspiring internal communications across multiple countries and languages.
* Partner with HR and business leaders to support cultural alignment and change management initiatives.
Team Leadership
* Manage and develop a high-performing team of 10 across PR, internal communications, and marketing.
* Promote collaboration, innovation, and professional growth within the team.
What You'll Need to Succeed in this role at GXO
* 15-20 years of experience in communications and marketing, with significant leadership experience in a multi-country, matrixed organization.
* Proven track record in:
* Media relations with top-tier business and industry outlets
* B2B marketing strategy and execution
* Executive positioning and thought leadership
* Brand positioning and digital marketing
* Issues and crisis management
* Strong understanding of European markets, cultures, and regulatory environments.
* Proficiency in AI-powered platforms to optimize campaigns and improve ROI
* Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to build trust with senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
* Fluent in English; additional European languages a plus.
