BUNGE is seeking a strategic Senior Tax Specialist | South Europe & MEA, to join our team in Barcelona.
In this role, you will support the Senior Manager Tax South West Europe & MEA in the development and delivery of the Europe & Asia tax strategy in line with the overall finance mission. The post-holder will be a part of the Global Tax Organization ensuring development of and adherence to the international tax developments and local country policies in order to maximize financial and tax control and minimize risk exposure. Working closely with the Europe & Asia Tax organization, Global tax teams, and other functions across EMEA, you will be responsible for the daily tax affairs of the South Europe and MEA entities.
Main Accountabilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting: Coordinate and prepare tax compliance of Ukraine entities (VAT, CIT, other) and coordinate and prepare tax reporting (monthly, quarterly and yearly), including ETR calculations for forecast & budget.
Advisory and Guidance: Coordinate and execute tax guidance for entities in scope, acting as the point of contact for internal advice and contact with external advisors. This includes monitoring and communicating on law and fiscal regulation updates.
Project Management: Provide high-quality tax advice and insight on various business projects through active interactions with other functions within Bunge, and manage local implementation of group-level taxation projects.
Contract Review and Transfer Pricing: Coordinate the review of proposed contracts from tax perspectives and coordinate and execute the preparation of transfer pricing documentation for Bunge legal entities.
Inspections and Representation: Coordinate and be actively involved in tax inspections and representation in front of tax authorities.
Controls and Optimization: Support in the development of aligned controls and procedures to ensure Bunge operations are in line with tax laws and international development, while achieving efficiencies and standardization. Support in optimizing Bunge's tax posture by generating tax savings and improving the tax cash flow and forecast.
External Relationships: Maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and providers, ensuring control over cost and quality of the service. Represent Bunge in external Tax working groups or contact groups.
Knowledge & Skills
Tax Legislation Expertise: Excellent knowledge of taxation legislation with the ability to refer to international regulations and local tax laws.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with excellent writing skills even for official correspondence in English.
Behavioral Competencies: Persistent and resilient; highly structured with the right combination between high-level and detailed focus; strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Language: Fluent English.
Technical Skills
MS Office, incl. advanced Excel.
SAP experience.
Education & Experience
University degree in Economy/Law, Direct tax.
4+ years of professional practice in multinational companies (US multinational is a preference) and/or leading international tax consulting/law firms.
Relevant tax experience required to connect and with reporting and compliance accomplishments.
US GAAP experience is a plus.
