Service Description:
The SDN Network Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing critical and high-impact incidents, ensuring operational continuity, and maintaining compliance with ITIL processes. The role involves active monitoring, troubleshooting, and collaboration with internal and external teams to guarantee service availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Incident Management:
Resolve critical and high-impact incidents, implement workarounds, perform root cause analysis, and document technical solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for effective resolution.
Request & Inquiry Handling:
Manage and resolve requests, incidents, and inquiries in compliance with SLAs using tools like Remedy .
ITIL Process Compliance:
Apply change, problem, and configuration management principles according to ITIL standards.
Monitoring & Maintenance:
Ensure continuous monitoring of systems and services.
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
Operational Procedures & Documentation:
Define procedures for event monitoring and alert handling.
Maintain updated technical documentation, network diagrams, and site lists.
Backup & Recovery:
Verify and maintain backups for all managed tools.
Third-Party Coordination:
Communicate effectively with suppliers and manufacturers for incident resolution and technical support.
Continuous Improvement:
Propose initiatives to optimize processes, tools, and configurations.
Level 2 Console Management:
Monitor and resolve issues on second-level consoles.
Audit Support:
Prepare compliance evidence and assist in internal/external audits.
Automation & Reporting:
Develop scripts for operational automation.
Implement dashboards and generate operational reports.
Certificate Management & Provisioning:
Maintain certificates and submit daily provisioning reports.
Technical Expertise:
SDN Networks:
Nokia (SDN, Routing, BGP, OpenFlow, NETCONF, NSP, OpenDaylight, ONOS)
Cisco ACI Controller
VMware NSX Controller
Juniper Networks
Tools & Protocols:
Familiarity with OpenFlow, NETCONF, and SDN orchestration platforms.
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience: Minimum 5+ years in SDN network operations.
Certifications:
Cisco CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure (with SDN)
VMware NSX Advanced
ONF Certified SDN Professional
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage critical incidents effectively.
