The Opportunity:
This role sits within the Strategy and Solutions Chapter, which encompasses a number of different strategic and innovative teams. Our purpose is to guide strategic priorities, advance value delivery through solutions and digital excellence, govern compliance and drive sustainability to deliver continuous improvement and strengthen Global Procurement’s impact on the wider Roche organization.
As a Sr. Procurement Solutions Manager (Ideation & Design), you will operate as a thought leader and strategic driver in a fast-moving, global environment. You will bring exceptional creativity, structured thinking related to digital procurement solutions, related technology, processes, and frameworks. Leveraging your deep specialized knowledge and extensive expertise, you will proactively define and lead comprehensive strategies and approaches that significantly contribute to the development and execution of the overall digital procurement strategy and evolution roadmap. Your leadership will be crucial in driving large-scale efficiencies, automation, and a superior user experience across the organization. You will serve as a principal ambassador for Digital Procurement and Excellence, shaping its future direction.
You will collaborate and influence across diverse cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Procurement, IT, Business Process Management, and key external solution providers. This involves proactively identifying strategic alignment opportunities, gathering critical feedback, and prioritizing initiatives to architect, deploy, and continuously enhance enabling digital procurement solutions and processes.
You will mentor and guide other colleagues, squad members, and networks on initiatives that demonstrably impact functional goals and significantly increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and user experience of procurement processes and solutions across the enterprise.
As a Sr. Procurement Solutions Manager (Ideation & Design), you will play a pivotal role according to your extensive experience, knowledge, and strategic business/team requirements, including but not limited to:
Establishing and maintaining a leading understanding of industry best practices, emerging trends in digital procurement technologies, advanced governance frameworks, and continuous improvement methodologies. You will leverage this knowledge to proactively identify opportunities for strategic advantageDriving a culture of continuous process & solution optimization, maximizing their strategic value and impact within Global Procurement and across Roche. This includes defining and implementing metrics for successActing as a principal domain knowledge and subject matter expert, providing authoritative input, strategic advice, and advanced know-how on digital procurement systems, processes, and their comprehensive governance. This involves developing, refining, and overseeing frameworks, guides, tools, and training materialsLeveraging advanced analytics and complex data insights for strategic opportunity identification, robust prioritization, and quantifiable impact measurement at an enterprise levelMore specific to the Ideation and Design focus area in the solution lifecycle, you will:
Define and shape current and future ways of working (incl. advanced KPIs), and strategically identify, prioritize, and articulate digital opportunities in close consultation with executive stakeholdersLead the comprehensive gathering of complex business requirements, develop sophisticated user stories, and architect the strategic direction of the digital procurement ecosystemDevelop robust, executive-level value cases for significant digital investments, securing buy-in and fundingSpearhead digital solution scouting and rigorous evaluation, preparing and executing strategic PoC/Pilot programs (including the design and/or co-creation of cutting-edge procurement technology)Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with a variety of leading procurement technology providers and innovative startups, as well as internal (AI) development teams, to drive collaborative innovation
Who you are:
You hold a university degree, preferably in business or IT, with a Master's degree or equivalent advanced qualification highly preferredYou have 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, procurement technology, and/or management consulting, ideally in a global/international, highly matrixed organization with a demonstrated track record of strategic impactYou are results-oriented and possess extensive experience in areas such as design thinking methodologies, strategic backlog management, continuous improvement leadership, advanced applications of LLMs, and a proven history of achieving significant, measurable results at an organizational levelYou possess a deep and comprehensive understanding of the entire procurement technology landscape (incl. strategic make vs. buy decisions), core procurement activities, and complex challenges. You excel at applying advanced knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions to maximize the performance, adoption, and user satisfaction of technology and processes across the enterpriseYou are proactively tracking and evaluating wider tech trends (AI, LLMs, blockchain, etc.) and adept at translating their potential into actionable strategies within the procurement/supply-chain domainYou possess superior analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex data into strategic, actionable insights and craft highly impactful messages tailored for executive-level stakeholders and the broader organizationYou possess a profound understanding of the strategic potential of technology to drive transformative changes in procurement and deeply comprehend the complexities of large-scale organizational change management processes that underpin successful digital transformationYou are known for your communication skills, with a proven ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across diverse global teams, consistently deliver complex outcomes, and demonstrate exceptional agility in adapting to rapidly changing strategic priorities in a fast-paced environmentYou have project-based experience with leading source-to-pay platforms (SMART by GEP technology and services procurement knowledge is a significant plus)You have (certified) expert-level proficiency in proven methodologies such as:
Scrum/SAFe, Advanced Change Management, Strategic Project/Program Management, LEAN, or similarYou demonstrate intellectual curiosity, active listening, and a strong willingness to experiment and test bold new ideas when appropriate, with a relentless focus on continuous learning, innovation, and strategic improvementYou are open-minded and highly inclusive, generously sharing ideas and knowledge, while being receptive to diverse perspectives and feedback from othersYou are passionate about creating customer-centric solutions by proactively fostering deep, collaborative partnerships across the organizationYou are fluent in English to a Business level (German is a plus)
