MECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Supervisor with 10–15 years of practical knowledge in equipment fabrication, specification, installation, and maintenance, particularly in hazardous area applications. The Mechanical Superintendent will oversee construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. Responsibilities include supervising contractors, monitoring schedules, and supporting project execution from construction through commissioning.
The Contract is for a 12-month period with the possibility of renewal; it is an on-site position 5 days a week. We can cater for both Self-employed and employed candidates contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise installation of static and rotating equipment (focus on static: vessels, columns, exchangers, pumps, compressors).
* Monitor contractor schedules, progress, and ensure effective supervision.
* Promote and enforce safety culture and compliance with permit-to-work procedures.
* Review method statements and risk assessments for technical and safety considerations.
* Conduct weekly HSE audits and monitor SIMOPS coordination.
* Manage vendor representatives and interface with contractors.
* Assist in system walkdowns, ITR sign-off, and punch list closure.
* Prepare daily reports on progress, workforce, delays, and performance.
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum 10 years' experience in installation of static and rotating equipment.
* Knowledge of DIN, ASME, ANSI standards.
* Ability to read P&IDs and single-line drawings.
* Strong safety orientation and experience with PTW, LOTO, SIMOPS.
* Proficiency in MS Office; fluent Spanish required, English desirable.
* Previous experience in ASU, gas production, refinery, or chemical plants preferred.
