The Policy Officer – Security of Supply will play a crucial role in contributing to the tools, solutions and oversight related to the assessments of the European energy system needs.
Main responsibilities of the job holder
* Lead or contribute to the monitoring of the implementation and improvement of the EU-wide methodologies in electricity resource
* Lead or contribute to the drafting of decisions, reports and opinions in the areas of security of supply, flexibility and relevant instruments, such as capacity remuneration mechanisms.
* Lead, coordinate or conduct quantitative studies, including energy systems modelling, to support the deliverables of the security of supply team.
* Engage with national regulatory authorities, other relevant authorities and institutions as well as external stakeholders. In addition, the jobholder will lead or will contribute to the following activities, as required:
* Coordinate the tasks and activities of the Agency's task forces and working groups, as well as external groups established for the processes established under the Security of Supply policies.
* Drive and manage engagement with Members States, European Commission, as well as stakeholders (ENTSO-E, EU-DSO, NRAs, TSOs, etc.) regarding the abovementioned tasks.
* Prepare progress reports, contribute to other general tasks of the team, the department or the Agency.
The following criteria will be evaluated
* Proven professional experience related to the functioning of electricity markets and business models of electricity suppliers;
* Proven professional experience in resource adequacy assessments and/or in capacity remuneration mechanisms;
* Strong electricity market modelling expertise;
* In-depth understanding of EU energy regulation and energy policies acquired through studies or professional experience;
* Proven professional experience in drafting policy documents and/or studies, particularly on topics related to security of supply, including risk preparedness and supply adequacy;
* Proven professional experience in stakeholder management in multinational environments;
