The laboratory works mainly through bilateral projects with processor companies and European‑funded projects. This position focuses on techniques for edge‑AI system hardware and software co‑design with the goal of improving functional metrics (e.g., AI model accuracy) as well as non‑functional metrics like average performance, deterministic execution time, and resilience to hardware faults.
Key Duties
* Contribute to research in hardware and software co‑design to improve functional and non‑functional metrics in edge‑AI systems across various criticality levels.
* Develop hardware solutions that enhance achievable functional and non‑functional metrics.
Requirements
* Education
o Last stages of a Master’s degree in Embedded Systems and/or AI.
* Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
o Experience in edge‑AI system software design and development.
o Experience in AI modelling, libraries, and frameworks.
o Experience in parallel programming (e.g., OpenMP).
* Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
o Experience in computer architecture.
o Good communication skills and command of the English language (written and spoken).
* Competences
o Problem‑solving, proactive, result‑oriented work attitude.
o Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and work under deadline pressure.
