Position Overview
Role:
Senior Product Manager – Data Engineering
Experience:
4+ years in Product Management (Data/Platform preferred)
We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead scalable, high-volume data services. You’ll define and prioritize data capabilities supporting 300+ annual ingestion requests, pipeline orchestration, harmonization, ETL/ELT workflows, and downstream service needs.
You’ll act as the bridge between scientific stakeholders, product teams, and Data Engineering—ensuring services are reliable, scalable, and strategically aligned. This role requires strong product ownership, deep familiarity with data platforms, and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear delivery plans.
What You’ll Do
Product Strategy & Ownership
Own and evolve the data services roadmap
Define a vision for scalable, reusable data capabilities
Establish clear prioritization frameworks
Balance new feature development with operational excellence Data Services & Platform Enablement
Manage intake and lifecycle of 300+ ingestion requests annually
Clarify requirements for orchestration, harmonization, and ETL/ELT workflows
Define SLAs and service standards
Standardize and automate recurring processes
Improve scalability and self-service capabilities Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with scientific and technical teams to gather requirements
Translate complex needs (including genetics/omics where applicable) into actionable plans
Work closely with Data Engineering on scope and feasibility
Align with downstream product teams
Communicate roadmap updates and trade-offs clearly Operational Excellence
Implement xsgfvud structured intake and governance processes
Define and track KPIs (throughput, turnaround time, reliability)
Drive continuous improvement and maintain documentation
Requirements
Essential
4+ years in Product Management (data/platform/infrastructure preferred)
Experience managing high-volume service or platform requests
Strong roadmap ownership and prioritization skills
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT, pipelines, orchestration, and harmonization
Experience with cloud-based data platforms
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Experience in genetics, omics, or life sciences data
Familiarity with large-scale scientific datasets
Exposure to data governance, metadata, or data quality frameworks
Experience in regulated or research environments
