Position: Color Key Artist
As a Color Key Artist, you will understand how light works from pre-production to post, have a great eye for color, and create stunning backgrounds which will be used in production. You will be responsible for the look, feel, and mood of the projects, by painting background images and doing color corrections.
Responsibilities
* Create color for film concepts, environments, backgrounds, color keys, lighting, and prop design.
* Understand how to best light backdrops to provide a smooth and even color key in editing.
* Work with technical directors on light rigging.
* Generate a color style guide.
* Create color keys for the lighting team.
* Generate high-resolution backgrounds for compositing into final shots.
* Review storyboard to ensure continuity of color key models.
* Communicate with the Creative Director and other teammates.
* Rework material from feedback and notes while maintaining a fresh perspective.
* Perform research that will inform the design of the work.
* Create presentation materials as needed.
* Complete work on deadline.
* Collaborate with others, inside and outside their team, establishing effective working relationships and fluid communication with team members.
* Successfully share information and ideas ensuring the most meaningful message is perfectly conveyed.
Requirements
* 2-4 years of professional experience in VFX or animation industries.
* At least 1 year of experience in the animation industry is desirable.
* Strong drawing and painting skills.
* Working knowledge of tools and software such as Cintiq, Photoshop, Adobe, Illustrator, and other design software.
* High English level.
