Offer Description
A funded 3-year postdoc position is available at the Strooma Lab directed by Jordi Alcaraz at the University of Barcelona. Funding is provided by ISCIII
through the ERANET-Transcan-3 project EPILUCAFs entitled “Chronic stress and immunosuppression in lung cancer: focus on epigenetic drivers in
cancer-associated fibroblasts”. The project is part of a consortium including the Curie Institute, Univ of Rennes, Medical University of Vienna and
Kaohsiung Medical University. Experimental approaches include the ‘stateof-the-art’ of molecular, genetic and functional assays as well as
bioinformatic and bioengineering tools. Our group has also unique in vitro, in vivo and ex-vivo preclinical models based on patient-derived samples to
mimic key aspects of the tumor microenvironment. We look for an outstanding candidate that is highly motivated to conduct experimental
research in a multidisciplinary environment, and hold a degree in life sciences or related field. Previous experience inimmunology/immunosuppression in cancer is required, including T-cells and/or macrophages.
Experience in functional assays of lymphocytes, generation of genetic models in lymphocytes, and standard molecular and cellular biology techniques in the field of immunity (flow cytometry, proliferation, viability, memory, cytotoxicity, ELISA).
Additional technical and personal competencies that will be considered as merits: experience with CAR-T cells; experience in in vivo validation of immune-related products; development of ELISA panels for the detection of immune cell populations.
Experience in clinical and translational research settings. Presentations at international conferences specialized in immunology. Publications in the field of immunity.

Degree in Biochemistry or other Life Sciences or Health Sciences, with background in immunology (lymphocytes and/or macrophages)
