Associate Legal Counsel (Barcelona) - What you will do
In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of shaping our legal landscape, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of agreements with precision and ensuring alignment with laws, internal policies, and industry standards. Your expertise will support our cross-functional teams, providing strategic legal advice on digital innovation, public procurement, and clinical trials, while maintaining corporate governance.
You will handle legal risks, conduct detailed legal research, stay updated on evolving legal landscapes, collaborate with external legal advisors as needed, and support the development and implementation of legal strategies. You will also handle disputes and litigation to safeguard our interests. Reporting directly to the Legal Counsel for Spain & Portugal, you will play an integral role in our mission to serve patients and achieve excellence.
Responsibilities
* General Business Support: Draft, review, and support negotiations of commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with policies and SOPs. Provide legal support to cross-functional teams and advise on legal aspects of product promotion, grants, and collaborations. Maintain contract templates and deliver legal training.
* Digital Innovation & Market Access: Guide legal aspects of digital tools, innovation projects, and healthcare programs.
* Public Procurement: Advise on tenders and procurement processes, draft related agreements, and conduct training on regulations.
* Legal Support to Clinical Trials and R&D: Review and draft clinical trial agreements, advise on clinical trial operations and regulatory compliance.
* Corporate Governance & Administration: Support governance activities, ensure compliance with registration and reporting obligations.
What we expect of you
We seek experienced professionals with these qualifications and skills:
Minimum requirements:
* Law degree from a recognized university
* Admitted to the Spanish Bar Association
* 5-6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in life sciences or healthcare
* Fluency in Spanish and English, both oral and written
Preferred requirements:
* Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries, familiarity with EU and Spanish health law
* Advanced degree or training in pharmaceutical law, public law, IP, or digital law
* Knowledge of compliance frameworks and contract management tools
